Ronnie gets fined

June 11th, 2007

Former World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan was fined last week by the World Snooker Association after a disciplinary hearing concerning his walk-out at the UK Championship in December, last year. Ronnie’s behavior has always been controverted but his walk-out last year enraged both the world snooker arena and his fans. The WSA management has been criticized for not taking action against Ronnie after what happened but it seems justice has been served.

Ronnie presented his apologies to Stephen Hendry and to his fans soon after the incident, blaming a “bad day at the office”. The hearing committee seems to be unimpressed by Ronnies rather personal apologetic declarations while Ronnie’s management company 110sport doesn’t rule out an appeal to the committees decision.

“The financial penalty comprises £4,050 in forfeited winnings, £5,000 towards the hearing’s costs and a £11,750 fine.” (BBC Sport)
